What is Holistic Medicine

By admin | Published: December 1, 2008

The Medical Sanctuary Holistic Medical Centre

Nutritional ands Environmental medicine is the study of the interactions of both nutritional and environmental factors with human physiology, biochemistry, pathology and anatomy and the clinical application of these interactions in the pursuit of good health and the prevention and treatment of disease.

This may involve the removal of certain foods or chemicals from the patients environment, the use of rotational diets and offering vitamins, minerals and antioxidants interwoven with meditation and relaxation therapy.

The holistic nature of nutritional and environmental medicine involves an approach to medical care that emphasizes the study of all aspects of a person’s health, including physical psychological, social, economic and cultural factors.

The Medical Sanctuary retains three holistic general practitioners practicing nutritional and environmental medicine. Each doctor has their own additional areas of special interest. For more information on each doctor and their respective areas of interest read their profiles.
