Namaste,
At Pure Bliss Yoga we believe in a life filled with happiness, love and inspiration. Providing Yoga classes and alternative therapies that help individuals to journey toward all of these aspects is our goal.
Gaining health, fitness and clarity of mind allows you to make better choices for yourself, your family and your friends. “Each journey begins with a single step.” Improve the quality of your life and indeed live longer by starting a Yoga class today!
Health is the state of being when all aspects of the body are functioning harmoniously together. Yoga enhances your balance, posture and agility. It aids in cleansing the internal body systems, such as the digestive system, to allow them to function properly. Yoga aims to realign the body, mind and spirit so that they are working together to create health and happiness. Yoga is the union of our physical, mental and spiritual selves, it is far more than merely a way of exercising the body – it is a way of life.
Yoga encourages us to focus our minds and become more aware of the internal flow of energy by controlling the breath and conditioning, stretching, and toning our physical bodies. An emphasis on breathing techniques allows the individual to engage in a more complete breath, re-oxygenating the body, clearing and stilling the mind. This in turn helps to reduce anxiety, emotional tension and mood swings. Yoga helps to bring Joy into our lives.
Yoga practice is associated with many physical, emotional and spiritual benefits. Some of the physical benefits include;
Yoga can help to eliminate specific physical symptoms or ailments such as;
Most importantly, Yoga is a personal path of discovery for all those who practice it – its unique benefits and relevance will become apparent to each as their path unfolds!
The months of carrying a child are all too precious. Pregnancy is a time for growth and discovery, a time of tremendous new beginnings. Engage in the creation of new life with not only your body but your mind and spirit as well, most new mothers find this transitional period both exciting and challenging.
Yoga helps you to have the best possible pregnancy and delivery. It helps to prepare the body for the labours ahead as well as maintain a healthy weight gain, flexibility and reduce backache. The benefits of practicing Yoga throughout pregnancy are so many it is difficult to list them all.
Even if you have never practiced Yoga before you will find that practicing the simplest of Asanas will improve your fitness and wellbeing, whilst the meditation aspect will help to reduce fatigue and anxiety.
Private and small group classes
Private and small group classes are now offered from the studio. This means that if the evening classes have not entirely suited your schedule or perhaps you would benefit from a more intimate class during the day we are able to accommodate you. The fee will be $80 per hour for up to 4 people. You may choose to have this for yourself or invite 3 friends and split the cost.
These classes will be available from 9.30am – 4.00pm and bookings are essential. There is no minimum commitment however these spots will book quickly so to avoid disappointment a regular booking is recommended.
The Benefits of small groups and Private lessons;
During a private or small group lesson the teacher is able to focus on Yoga Therapy, choosing Asanas that suit the individual to work on either existing injury, areas of concern and targeted strengthening and flexibility. For example if you have suffered from lower back issues all your life then the class will focus on strengthening the back and core, creating flexibility through the hamstrings and upper back to support a new and improved function and posture.
For some of the Mummy’s who have recently left, this may be an opportunity for you to get together, bring bubs and do some Yoga at a time that suits you!
What to expect
During a Yoga session you will work through a series of postures (Asanas) and techniques designed to loosen, strengthen, tone, stretch and relax your body.
Beginning with a relaxation meditation you will be guided to gather yourself and become present in the room in preparation for your practice. The class will then be lead through some Pranayama (breathing techniques) to help gain awareness of your breath and revitalise your body.
This will be followed by some gentle stretching to warm up the body before moving onto some more challenging and strengthening Asanas. All of the Asanas have various levels to them, allowing each student to work to their own level and ability, remaining comfortable and safe throughout the class.
Finally the class will finish with a relaxation meditation so that each student can leave feeling fresh and relaxed.
What to bring
Some Yoga mats are provided, however, if using one of our mats please bring a towel to place on it. You will need to wear loose fitting comfortable clothing or gym gear and bring a bottle of water with you to keep you hydrated. Please also make sure that you bring a small blanket during the cooler months for use during meditation.
